Mermaid Splash Course (PFI Beginner-Level Mermaid Certification)
The Mermaid Splash course is an approximately 90-minute class designed to help participants safely explore basic mermaid skills under the direction of a PFI certified instructor! This option is ideal for kids and adults looking to enjoy a new summer activity. Participants will swim away with smiles, an accredited certification, and a few photos to commemorate the experience!
Successful completion of the “Mermaid Splash” course will earn the participant a PFI (Performance Freediving International) “Mermaid Splash” Certification that is honored worldwide.
Excellent for kids (6+ with parental consent), families and first time merfolk who want to obtain an accredited beginner-level mermaid certification.
- Prerequisites: Participants must be in good physical health and be able to swim comfortably without floatation devices.
- Ages: 6 years through adult
- Estimated Class Duration: 1-1.5 hours
- Cost: $175 per student
- PFI Online Mermaid Certificate: Included in course
- PFI Printed Mermaid Certification Card: $10 (optional)
- *Equipment: Monofin and tail skin are included in this course up to adult size Medium. Students must supply their own goggles (open or enclosed nose).
- Note: It is possible to fail this course. Students MUST successfully demonstrate ALL course skills to pass and obtain PFI “Mermaid Splash” certification.
Aquatic Mermaid Course (PFI Intermediate-Level Certification)
The Aquatic Mermaid course is a 4 hour, intermediate-level mermaid course designed to give students the skills to master mermaid swimming in confined water conditions to depths of up to 15 feet without the direct supervision of an instructor.
Successful completion of the Aquatic Mermaid course will earn the participant a PFI (Performance Freediving International) “Aquatic Mermaid” Certification that is honored worldwide.
Perfect for kids (8+ with parental consent), and adults who want to obtain intermediate-level mermaid certification.
- Prerequisites: Participants must be in good physical health and be able to swim comfortably without floatation devices.
- Ages: 8 years through adult
- Estimated Class Duration: 4 Hours
- Cost: $350 per student
- PFI Online Mermaid Certificate: Included in course
- PFI Printed Mermaid Certification Card: $10 (optional)
- Equipment: Students must supply their own monofin, tail skin, and goggles (open or enclosed nose) for this course. (Fin Fun basic equipment preferred. Non Fin Fun equipment requires instructor approval.)
- Note: It is possible to fail this course. Students MUST successfully demonstrate ALL course skills to pass and obtain PFI Aquatic Mermaid certification.
Performance Mermaid Course
The Performance Mermaid course is a 3 hour, advanced-level mermaid skills course designed to teach participants about breath control, advanced skill combinations, bubble tricks, and team skills. Mer-fect for kids (12+ with parental consent, 8+ with instructor and parental consent), and adults who are interested in learning advanced mermaid skills or who are interested in becoming performing merfolk.
- Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Aquatic Mermaid Course (received PFI Aquatic Mermaid certification)
- Ages: 12 years through adult (8 years with instructor approval)
- Estimated Class Duration: 3 Hours
- Cost: $350 per student
- Equipment: Students must supply their own monofin, tail skin, and nose-enclosed goggles for this course. (Fin Fun basic equipment preferred. Non Fin Fun equipment requires instructor approval.)

Max class size is 6 students.
All classes will be led by our on-site PFI certified mermaid instructor Constance Moch.
*Adults larger than size Medium must purchase their own basic (NOT ELITE) Fin Fun (or other instructor-approved company) monofin and tail skin. Fin Fun monofin and tail skin combos can be purchased online via Amazon or at FinFunMermaid.com.
Admission fees to the Texas Pool are NOT included in the course pricing.
Completion of any of the above courses will earn a single day free swimming pass at The Texas Pool.
