Shinro Ohtake, a representative artist of contemporary Japanese art. This is his first video work, "NOTES 1985-1987." It is a "time membrane" of creation and memory, reconstructed with a combination of work production notes, a total of 280 pages (planned).
(Explanation) Artist Shinro Ohtake. Since the 80s, he has continued to run at the forefront of contemporary Japanese art, and his field of activity extends to literature, music, photography, design, and more. This work, which Ohtake presents for the first time in a DVD + BOOK combination, is groundbreaking in that it reconstructs the entire picture of creation and memory from 1985 to 1987, as the title suggests, using the vast amount of silent 8mm film shot at the time and detailed work production notes.
It contains a three-dimensional representation of his own sense of time. According to Ohtake himself, it is "a strange thing like witnessing a loop-shaped unconscious in progress," and the DVD is "like a 'membrane of time'" pasted into the notes.
