Our 60th season comes to an end
For the past 60 summers, the Texas Pool has opened its gates for families to swim, splash, jump, slide and just in general have fun in the sun. It seems like this summer flew by! We hope that you and your family had the chance to make memories by visiting our iconic Texas-shaped pool.
Here are some of the highlights of our year:
- Replaced more of the old pea gravel deck with natural stone pavers
- New fence between our West Texas deck and Pittman Creek
- New website, membership and party booking system
- Donated benches and children’s picnic tables
- Memorial Day ceremony with Mrs. America Brooklyn Rivera
- Free Tankproof swim & water safety lessons for kids in the community
- Participated in the World’s Largest Swim Lesson
- Little Free Pantry and Scouting for Food donation drive to help our struggling neighbors
- Juneteenth and Fourth of July fun and games
- A fresh look for the shark and Gulf Coast murals
- Return of chess classes and the Texas Pool Merfolk meetups
- Yummy weekend food trucks
- 60th anniversary celebration with a bit of history, games and giveaways
- Labor Day’s final swim
But that’s not all. The Texas Pool Foundation’s volunteers are preparing for some exciting restoration and renovation projects in the off-season. We’d love to have your help and support!
